What I Wore to Tea Time

In case you missed it, my first Tea Time post went really well!  I'm really happy with the response I've received on it.  It's making me more excited to have an April Tea Time! Lately, Cup of Tea has gotten a lot of exposure for being featured on LaurenConrad.com and it really inspired me to start giving back and featuring other bloggers/blogs that I enjoy.  I've already received a lot of requests to be featured in April!  How exciting!

A more detailed look at what I wore to my "tea party":

Last week was a great week to photograph outfits.  The weather was gorgeous.  Unfortunately this week Michigan decided to go back to it's normal March weather and it's a bit chilly again.  Darn!  Well at least I can live through pictures of outfits from last week for a little while.  I miss the warmth!

Happy Tuesday!

It's Time for Tea!

The theme of March's Tea Time is in celebration of the new season: Florals.  I see spring!  See how my three guests have incorporated florals into their outfits:

Check out Grace's blog, A Southern Drawl

Check out Kassi's blog, The Closet Intervention

Check out Skinny Moonstick's blog, Skinny Moonstick

And what I'm wearing to tea:

This month I'm serving Dragon Well White tea.  I recently got the chance to try this kind at my favorite local tea spot Goldfish Tea.  It's soooo tasty!  I snapped this pic on my phone to share its prettiness with you!

I chose these three guests for a few reasons.  First, I love reading their blogs and commenting back and forth on each other's posts.  They each seem like people I would invite to tea in real life!  Second, they each have great style!  The outfits they post on their blogs always continue to inspire me.

I hope you've enjoyed Cup of Tea's first edition of Tea Time!  If you're interested in "attending" April's Tea Time, shoot me an email at cupofteastyle@gmail.com.  Each month I will have a theme, whether it be something as simple as florals, or something more creative (I don't have any specific examples yet... feel free to suggest themes too!)

Happy Tea Time!

Winter to Spring Color Bridge

This week has been absolutely gorgeous in Michigan!  We were hitting highs in the mid-80s!  That is crazy crazy weather for March in Michigan.  It's been nice to dig out the sandals and dresses though!  Since it is still March, yesterday I decided to mix winter colors and spring colors.

I had never mixed navy blue and peach before but I think it came out pretty well!  Fresh color combinations keep the brain alive!

I hope everyone has been enjoying their weekends!  Tomorrow I'm planning on introducing my new pseudo Tea Time event here on Cup of Tea.  I'll be featuring three other bloggers who will be "guests" at my very first virtual tea party!  Come back tomorrow to fully understand what I'm talking about, I don't want to give too much away yet!

Happy weekend!

The Elephant from Guatemala

This week has been pure craziness.  And when I say craziness I mean I've been super super busy.  Even though I just graduated with my bachelors degree in December, and in addition to working full time, I've added on a night class to start learning more about web programming.  Those are some long days.  Which explains why I feel so behind in the blog world!

A few weeks ago my sister went to visit a friend in Guatemala.  She brought me back a beautiful Guatemalan scarf and a cute little elephant too!  (I'm such a sucker for cute stuffed animals... yes I am 23 years old.)

In other news, WOW I'm super happy about all of my new followers!!  Thank you!  I hope you continue to read and enjoy my blog!

I'm off to go enjoy this beautiful weather Michigan is having.  It seems too good to be true!

Happy Sunday!

Burst of Spring Color

What beautiful weather this weekend!  Sunny and 60s... that's pretty good for March in Michigan!  I took the opportunity to bust out the spring colors on Saturday!  It's so refreshing!

Black to Basics

I love wearing black.  I'm not depressed, I'm not Gothic, I just love wearing black.  Furthering this love, my favorite fashion "rule" to break is combining black and brown!

black sweater and belt: H&M | black tank: H&M | jeans: American Eagle | shoes: Steve Madden | necklace: gift | leaf ring: LC Lauren Conrad | black heart ring: gift | watch: Target | bracelet: H&M

Black and brown is a basic combination that always looks good.  Plus, with yesterday's weather being so gorgeous (it got up to around 65 degrees!) it was nice to wear short sleeves and not be freezing!  With spring weather brings spring breezes though, as seen in picture three with my hair.  I decided against posting the one where my hair is flying straight up towards the sky, it looked a bit too crazy!

I hope the warmer weather sticks around!  I have this fear that Mother Nature will give Michigan a snow blizzard before spring hits for real.  But until then, I'm enjoying my short sleeves!

Until next time!

Springtime Yellow and New Bangs for Me!

I've slowly been accumulating spring-ish clothing even though the weather outside my window is far from warm and sunny.  All of the spring clothing colors have caught my eye and it's hard to wait until it's actually warm to start wearing them!  Even though it's still cold, I managed to get away without a sweater or long sleeved shirt this day:

cape: Apt. 9 | jeans: American Eagle | boots: Civico 10 | necklace: American Eagle | bracelet: H&M

Also, I'd like to point out that I now have some side sweeping bangs!  I thought it was time for a change.  I haven't had bangs for at least four years and I was a bit nervous on whether I would be able to commit to them or not.  I hate the feeling of no-longer wanting bangs and having to wait forever for them to grow out.  But for now I'm happy!

Have a great day!!
