Luna Halloween

Happy Halloween!!  Last weekend was the annual Luna Halloween Bash!  This year I decided to go as Daphne from Scooby Doo.  There are only so many realistic costume choices for a redhead, and this was fairly inexpensive and easy to create!

It was strange wearing my contact lenses all night, I am such a glasses girl, so it takes a lot to make me wear my contacts.  But in order to make my costume better I sacrificed my lovely glasses for a spec-less face!

Not bad!

The Boy/Lumberjack Man/Dan and me
Rachel/Black Swan and me
me and Kalyn/Nurse
dress: American Apparel // scarf: fabric from JoAnn's //
headband: clearence at Target for $1 // tights: a pair of my old ballet tights //
shoes: Mudd from a long time ago

Plus I can re-use the dress for normal outfits too!  Luna did not disappoint. Let's just say the photobooth machine made a killing off of us.

Hope you all have a happy and safe Halloween!  My plan is to pass out candy, watch Young Frankenstein, and pack for vacation!  I'm headed north for a long weekend!  Woo!

Military Leaves

Happy Sunday! Since my life got so busy and is still so busy, I haven't had the opportunity to post many fall pictures!  I have some stored up to show you today; I haven't actually taken an outfit picture in a while now.  Business business!  But I can't let the entire fall slip away!

jacket: thrifted // jeans: American Eagle // scarf: Target // shoes: Payless // belt: H&M

House-buying business is becoming more manageable.  The crazy stressful part of buying a HUD owned house is finally lessening.  Has anyone else ever experienced the craziness of buying a HUD owned house?  Let me just say: Stress City.  Now I'm pretty much waiting to close on it!  I'm expecting that will happen at the end of November.  Eeek!

I hope you are all well!  I can't wait to settle back into a blog-reading and commenting routine, I miss reading about your lives!!  But I haven't forgotten you.  I will be back at some point, no worries :)

Yesterday was the annual Halloween costume party at my favorite dance club.  I'll get some pictures up here soon!

Brown & Blue

I must start this post out with a giant GO TIGERS!!!  Anyway, over the weekend I got my house inspected and the results were very good!  So that makes me happy.  Now I just have to wait for closing!  I went to Kohl's today to try and start finding kitchen items, and of course hardly anything was on sale in the kitchen department.  How does that happen?  It's Kohl's!  Everything is always on sale!  Well apparently not.  So I left empty handed.  At least I have an idea of what I want though, I just have to keep checking the sale paper.

I'm finally starting to de-stress a bit and enjoy some fall activities.  Over the weekend I completed my Halloween costume, so now I just have to figure out how I'm going to do my hair.  This weekend I plan to go to the cider mill for the second time!  Yay!  And on a more random note, I've started watching New Girl and am completely obsessed.  I caught up on the first season last week and now am ready to start digging into the second season which I've been recording.  I love Zooey Deschanel's style so much!

Have a great week!

Halloween Style Inspiration

October is almost half over!!  And you know what that means... Halloween is almost here!  Do you have your costume prepared?  If you're still at a loss for ideas, check out what Cambria from Jupe, Jessica from Here & Now, and Jessica from The Jessica L Blog did!  Some inspiration for this costume-y season:

Cambria says...
"I wanted to do something kind of different...something very costume-y, that utilized pieces of my wardrobe that I rarely get to wear, and that really still maintained that vintage vibe that I love.  Plus I
always love to represent famous and fun characters from literature! When I saw the dalmatian print collar, red satin, and black vintage-style tulle skirt all hiding in the back of my closet...they brought to mind one of my favourite childhood books, 101 Dalmatians...and I realized that I could make my own retro glam Cruella Deville costume :)  It's definitely a different take, but I had so much fun with the devilish colour palette and glam style, plus finding a way to style my makeup and hair that had that vintage movie star feel and that freakish Cruella Deville look!  My photographer friend managed to style it with just a comb...and I added those little beauty spots just for effect.  Hope that you enjoy!"
Cambria has other great fashion ideas at her blog Jupe!

Jessica says...
"My first Halloween celebrated with my boyfriend was last year, and somehow I convinced him to dress up in a couple's costume with me: Roger and Jessica Rabbit. Using a formal dress for a high school function that was already on its last leg, I dyed it in the sink and added some accessories that were "Jessica Rabbit"-esqe."
Stop by Jessica's blog Here & Now to see her great style!

Jessica says...
"Okay, just so you know, I'm not entirely sure how I feel- on a deeply personal level and superficial level- about these pictures. Hah! I'm suppose to be a Strawberry Shortcake girl, I guess, but not her exactly?! It was one of those last minute costume purchases. You know, the one where you have to find a costume because your friend wants you to go to her Halloween party and you were undecided about doing anything for Halloween in the first place, but you partly feel like you should do something because, well, you're not doing anything else, and your friend is really encouraging you to go?! So that's what happened here. And I think what sold me were those striped green socks. Even then I had a thing for stripes, and, welp, knee high socks. I've always loved knee high socks.  Needless to say, I once again am undecided about what I want to dress up as this year or if I'm doing anything. It might take another friend to force me to go out and get dressed up. The Darling Husband hates dressing up and going to Halloween balls. I don't do the balls anymore either. I stick to small get-togethers or parties. Although, I love Halloween just as much today as I did when I was a kid. Some things just never change with me."
Jessica's blog, The Jessica L Blog is the home of some cute style!

This is what I wore last year to go dancing for Halloween!  I loved this costume and will probably end up wearing it again one of these upcoming years!  I've got something else planned for this year though...

What are you dressing up as this Halloween?

A Big Purchase

Wow where have I been??  It feels like I just posted and that was actually a week ago.  My apologies.  You see, I have lots of important business going on right now because I'm buying a house!  That's right, I am purchasing my first house.  And let me just say that I've spent the majority of the last week stressed out.  So here are some pictures of me that I took last week before I was notified that my house bid was accepted.  I look much less stressed.

sweater: Forever 21 // jeans: Gap // shoes: Target // necklace: gift

I will leave you will this short entry today, because I've been so stressed about a multitude of things that I now feel sick and really want to go to sleep.  Good night!

Fall-y Attire

Happy first day of October!  This month is definitely among my favorites.  I can't wait for cider mill trips, making homemade doughnuts, and the beautiful leaf colors!  Actually, the leaf colors are already here in Michigan!  It seems like from one day to the next there is color popping up everywhere!

sweater: Delia's // jeans: LC Lauren Conrad // jacket: thrifted //
boots: Target // purse: Target // ring: Miner's Den

I really love this outfit and plan to wear it again very soon!  I've decided I will have to go out and stomp around in some colorful leaves the next time I wear it; I feel so fall-y! (yeah yeah, I know fall-y isn't a word but it should be)

In order to not miss out on fall things that I love so much, I've made a list of things to accomplish this season:

Reading over this list I see cider listed twice and fire listed twice.  Hmm.  I just love fall!

What's on your fall to-do list?
