Restoring The Closet Door {part two}

Remember my post from last month when I found an exact match door for my house? Well, if not, here's the recap. My house was built in 1942 and it still has all of its original interior doors except for one. And the door that was put in it's place is just horrible, because it's fake wood, it's the wrong color, and it just doesn't match the design of the house (don't get me wrong, the white door below is a classic look, but it's not the right design for my house, a 40s bungalow). I was super lucky to find an exact match of my original doors in the correct size! It was painted white, but I had it stripped.

Below we have the funky fake wood white door.  This has to go.

And here is the freshly stripped door that I found to match my originals!

It seriously looks like a brand new door!  You wouldn't guess it is actually 71 years old.

Now the next step is to stain it to match my originals. I still can't get over the fact that I found an exact match. How many times can I say "exact match" in one post?

In other news, I am currently in the middle of a big winter storm! It's sleeting/icing/raining/snowing outside right now. Good thing I'm all tucked in wearing yoga pants, now to pour that glass of wine...
